A Breeder's Story - Phil

Mission (Im)possible?! The adventurous search for the golden seed

Phil began his journey into the fascinating world of cannabis at the age of just 15. His passion for the brown gold of the Arabs was ignited at an early age. He was particularly fond of the exotic varieties that crumbled through his resin-covered teenage fingers. Whether it was red Lebanese, black Afghan, Pakistani or Moroccan hashish - they all conquered his brain and then his heart at an intoxicating speed.

In the 1980s, however, high-quality weed was still a fairly hidden secret in Europe. Hashish only found its way into European pipe bowls via the murky smuggling routes. Quality often had to give way to availability - too often for Phil. He had already tasted the sweet nectar of the Berbers. With each new lump of resin in his hand, the desire grew within him to finally be able to take matters into his own hands.

From the peaks of the Middle East to the deepest tropical jungles

Driven by an insatiable desire to discover ever better and more potent strains, Phil decided to travel the world to search even the most hidden corners and remote spots for the best genetics that Mother Earth has to offer. At the tender age of 19, Phil came up with a bold plan: he would travel to India and Nepal to find the finest hash and weed. But this short trip was only the beginning of a lifelong journey. From the peaks of the Middle East to the deepest tropical jungles - Phil collected the best seeds and secretly brought them back to Europe, with stomachaches and sweaty hands in his luggage past customs - all because of a harmless little plant.

Don't panic, it's organic!

His travels took him all over the world. Soon, in addition to the seeds, he found like-minded people all over the world who shared his passion and introduced Phil to varieties that still enjoy iconic status today.

An unforgettable companion on his journey was Ras Truth. But everyone just affectionately called him Mandelbrot. They worked together in Northern California, where one day, shortly before his death, Mandelbrot left him his life's work: the most exotic types of diesel and fuel in perfect perfection. Even Phil had never seen - or rather smelled - anything like it up to that point! His thirst for adventure left him no choice, and so he had to take this treasure, his friend's legacy, all over the world.

Icons like from the assembly line

The years spent in the shadow of the law are far behind him. But the allure of anonymity in the dark has never completely left him. He still prefers to operate in secret rather than wallow in the limelight.

Today, Phil looks after one of the most impressive collections of global cannabis genetics. Together with a group of visionaries, he has created countless revolutionary breeds. The first stable feminized seeds, the first true autoflower crosses and many of the legendary varieties that are now world-famous all came from his pen. His breeds are the result of a tireless search for perfection and a deep passion for the greenest of all grasses.
